Tips to Getting Sharp Photos
There are many ways to developing sharp photos or "Tack Sharp" photos. The term Tack Sharp is just a term most of us in the photography industry use to describe the highest level of sharpness. Although, there are a number of things to help produce great photos, one of the most important things to consider when shooting is using a tripod for almost everything you do. Often there are times when we are out shooting or taking pictures and the slightest of movement of the camera can produce blurred photos due to camera shake. By using a tripod, the camera remains still and your photos will come out tack sharp all the time.
One thing to keep in mind is not any tripod is capable of doing the trick. Cheap tripods have often been unstable and not able to keep the camera steady. The best advice is the purchase a more advance or professional tripod for your camera.
Digital Photography Tricks Best Choice for Tripods
Davis & Stanford Full Size Heavy Duty Tripod (around $140.00)
Davis & Stanford ProVista7518B Tripod (around $200.00)
SLIK 615-315 Professional Photo/Video Tripod (around $140.00)
Image File Format
Most digital camera comes with two different file formats JPEG and RAW. The JPEG format is the most common among photographers and it has
a nice feel for image quality. In addition, JPEG formats are
popular among computer applications and you can use it in many
of the most popular design and graphics programs.
The JPEG format is compressed and uses a mathematical algorithm
to reduce the file size while losing minimal image quality.
RAW image files are popular among professional photographer because
they are proprietary files that have minimal processing applied
to them by the camera. They also have the ability to hold
more tonal information than JPEG files. Also, most professional photographers
feel shooting in RAW produces better quality images. The only drawback
is you should have a large memory card to hold RAW files since they are much bigger. RAW files are much
larger than JPEG files and uses more memory.
RAW files also can be processed with much more flexibility and adjustment
range than is possible with JPEG files.
Photo Cropping
Cropping your photos is a great way of editing your
images from a larger frame and gets rid of the unwanted parts. Cropping
also removes the excess image around the outside so you can better
emphasize your subject and composition.
I use cropping for images to help bring them to light by making
them larger if the image appears to be too small in the frame area.
