Digital Photography Quick Tips

Ready for some digital photography quick tips! On this page are quick tips and tricks to help assist you with photography lighting and camera techniques. There are true facts about taking quality photos. In order to produce outstanding photos make sure you have a quality camera and good lens. Most digital cameras today have built-in features which makes it easy to produce high quality photos. A better way to find out what type of equipment is right for the job is to determine what you are trying to accomplish before the shoot.

Study the area before the shoot!

The environment plays an important role on how your digital photography pictures may turn out. A good practice is to study the environment before the shoot. Make sure you locate a good place to take pictures and study the place carefully before the shoot. By carefully studying the environment will help improve your images every time because you will know how to prepare before the next photography shoot. This will help determine the best time to shoot, and which subjects are needed for the photos. There times when we just don't have time to prepare for that special moment. Make sure there is always an extra camera and accessories available before every photo shoot.

ISO Settings Tips

In digital photography, ISO measures the sensitivity of the image sensor. The same usually applied to file photography, were the lower the number the less sensitive your camera is to light. Low settings such as ISO 100 are less sensitive or much "slower" than ISO 400 or 800 because it takes a slower shutter speed to properly expose the image. The lower the ISO settings on your camera, the better picture results. I use ISO settings between 100 and 200 for basic shooting. However, a higher ISO setting may result in digital noise. ISO settings such as 800 or 1000 may cause more digital noise especially if you are not using a tripod. Try setting the ISO settings on your camera based on indoor or outdoor conditions. A higher ISO setting would be good for night photography depending on the conditions.

All about light

The better light tend to give your photos the look and feel of a professional. The better the lighting conditions, the better chance of your photos would turn out great. However, too much light could ruin a photo so you have to be very careful when using too much light. If you shoot in different settings like I do you will get a good idea on how to master the lighting in photos. I try to shoot in different places with different amounts of light to see how my photos would turn out. This gives a better way of studying the best lighting techniques for the shoot.

Camera Shuttle Speeds

The faster the shutter speed, the better the result will be for fast-action photography. Faster shuttle speeds provides the option of capturing and stopping action in its tracks. Faster shuttle speeds such as 1/1000 or 1/200 and a low ISO setting provide great results for action photography.
